Manufactured from heavy-duty, UV-stabilized polycarbonate, the WP5220 series complies fully with 2020 NEC Article 406.9 (B)(1) for wet locations and extra-duty applications, CEC Article 26-702, and holds cULus Certification for Type 3R outdoor enclosures. Engineered to endure harsh environments, it satisfies cold-impact testing down to -60°F (-51°C), withstands a 12 lb. impact test, and features a reinforced hinge pin designed to exceed a 40 lb. hinge hang/stress test.

Security and weather sealing are optimized for outdoor durability: the unit includes a 1/8" (3 mm) thick pre-adhered neoprene gasket with screw slits and an integrated lockable hasp accepting padlocks with up to a 1/4" (6 mm) shank diameter. The interior accommodates standard electrical cords up to 1x10 AWG or 2x12 AWG.
